Deep, warm and complex. Our very first pu'erh tea is naturally aged and fermented for over a decade to offer a metabolism-boosting trove of flavor.
From rich earth to grass jelly, dark forest to molasses - this brew reflects a tea style first treasured for its medicinal benefits - but eventually beloved especially in Guangdong and Guangxi for its one-of-a-kind flavors
Pairs ridiculously well with Cantonese cooking, especially dim sum, and works well as a coffee substitute for java drinkers transitioning to tea. Addictingly mellow-sweet like a dark roast Indonesian coffee, and low on caffeine, acidity & bitterness
Aged tea like our 2014 Yunnan is prized in TCM for promoting metabolism, digestion, and cleansing toxins. While not as high in polyphenols as fresh green tea, aged pu'erh is still packed with anti-inflammatories and antioxidants.
Better yet, this rich but gentle leaf style is famously easy to brew.
While we recommend the following recipe to start out, aged raw pu'erh is wonderful at a variety of steeps, ratio, and temperature - and extremely difficult to "oversteep":
