[Snowflakes on Emerald Pond | 碧潭飘雪 | ❄️🍵]
September 2026 Batch
Introducing our first Sichuan Green! Also known as "Snowdrop Jasmine" and "Snow Drifting on Jade Pond", this style was developed a Chengdu tea researcher in the 1990's as an evolution of jasmine highlighting visual elegance & its tea base, and natural expression of his city's love for leisurely conversations over tea.
Naturally - this stunner earns its names for the dance of silken Sichuan flowers that fly across your teapot while brewing! It's not only dried with morning-picked local jasmines - but given a final roast with these fresh, whole flowers - in addition to using a louder & more verdant tea base than usual.
Whereas classic Fujian style jasmines like our Dragon Pearls use a delicate base to prioritize the florals, this batch uses fresh, tender tea buds from Mount Emei that offer extra nutrients, and a wilder leafy edge with jasmine playing a more supportive role.
Packed with green teas' iconic catechins, EGCG, & other immune-supportive compounds, and much harder to find in the West, Snowflakes on Emerald Pond is an adventurous gift for green-tea lovers and...I mean let's be honest, it's really pretty :)
_____
Western Style Brew:
Steep 1: 8g Tea | 12oz | 185-190°F | 2.5 - 3 Minute Steep
Steep 2: We recommend 190°F & steeping an extra +3 - 3.5 Minutes
Careful brewing! As with many jasmines, Snowflakes is strong enough to resteep, but also tastes too herbaceous when the 1st batch steeps too long
______
Future batches of Snowflakes may fluctuate a bit in price depending on the season's jasmine crops
