Osmanthus Flower Oolong (桂花烏龍)
Taiwan's tropical take on the classic Chinese jasmine green. Expertly light roasted oolong leaves meet the natural, musky sweet scents of whole-blossom island osmanthus, producing a celadon green cup with heavy floral overtones juxtaposed by a subtle watermelon sweetness.
For Western style brewing, use 8 grams of tea for 12oz of ~190*F water. The tea's flavor should develop within 3-4 minutes. As a loose leaf tea, the leaves are packed with enough flavor to continue steeping beyond 4 minutes, or rebrew another cup with hotter water, less water, and/or longer steep time.
For Gong Fu style tea, your usual 5-8g of tea should be perfect for a gaiwan session. Earlier steeps may offer a creamy mouthfeel reminiscent of Jin Xuan, but with a refreshingly tropical new floral for any patron of Jasmine Greens.
