Red Water Oolong (红水)
Amber liquor, clean, silken back-of-the-throat mouthfeel, and a lingering buttery aftertaste. This Taiwanese tea features a sweet, dulcet complexity of dark chocolate and smoke with a hint of baked peaches in the early and last stages of steeping.
This full-bodied tea is the darkest oolong we carry, having been slow-roasted for multiple times by a competition-winning artisan tea maker & farmer. A great treat for someone who enjoys Wuyi oolongs like Red Robe, or wants to try a darker oolong for the first time.
For recommend tasting the first rinse or "returning cup" for a fleeting note of stonefruit before the brew transitions to dark, roasted flavors
For conventional Western brewing we'd point towards using 8g of tea per 12oz of water at 212*F for 4-4.5 minutes for the first cup, then stirring the leaves or brewing a bit longer for your second brew.
