Taiwanese Hang Bai Ju
Honeycomb cereal sweetness, with a light lemon lift and cooling aftertaste.
These premium ivory-yellow flowers are beloved in TCM for not only their gentle flavor, but also for their cooling, anti-inflammatory, throat soothing effects and beneficial compounds for eye health.
While similar in profile to our Royal Chrysanthemum, Hang Bai Ju is more honey-forward and light (at least around 180-185 degrees Farenheit), and less overtly pine fresh until later or hotter steeps (e.g. 195 degrees)
For a 12oz house cup, we recommend steeping 8g of 180-185°F water for only 3-3.5 minutes. Unlike Autumn Chrys, this brew tastes best with gentle short steeps!
Feel free to add goji, ginger or Chinese dates for extra flavor or anti-inflammatory boosts. While this flower varietal is originally a Zhejiang specialty, this fresh Taiwanese crop is packed with nutrients!
Please note due to the drying process, some petals may be darker in color towards the tips. This is natural and will not affect your brew!
