This one-cultivar tea grows slow in small groves on Wuyi Mountain. A Ming Dynasty special with full, twirling leaves, this oolong was carefully hand-roasted to brew an easy-drinking, quiet nuance like a riverside forest.
Once a famous Wuyi tea, this leaf style is relatively hard to find in the global market due to its inherently small-scale production.

For Western style brewing, we recommend brewing 4g of tea per 8oz of water. Steep for 2 minutes at 185-190*F, notably lower than most dark oolongs. As a medium-roasted oolong, this lower temperature will help preserve your Turtle's subtle complexity.
For gongfu cha, we prefer a pretty generous pinch of leaves. Golden Turtle is gentle, fast-brewing, & uncommon, so we like to enjoy a longer session with it.
