[Green Snail Spring | Bì Luó Chūn | 碧螺春 | China]
Named for the leaves' charming coils before and while they unravel, and how this tea captures a flavor like the essence of spring.
Among green teas, the word we'd use to describe Bi Luo Chun is "wild". The tea itself is very intentionally crafted - and still gentle compared to rock oolongs & black teas -
But as a green tea...it brews a bold & "untamed" flavor. We call to mind notes of petrichor, verdant forage, and a light smoke especially in the first steep. It reminds us of waking up while camping at 6am, or the kind of drink a fictional "gentle giant" would reach for in a story if not coffee.
A classic Jiangsu Province specialty - this leaf style is perfect for people who like a hearty taste - but also love the freshness and antioxidants kindred among all green teas.
Standard Brewing Suggestion (Western Style)
6g | 12oz | 175-180°F | 1 Minute
On the first steep, we do not suggest "washing" the leaves whether brewing Western or Eastern style. For an adorably named tea, these leaves quickly pack a punch!
